We are already into 21 days of 2019, yes...but, since this post is the first one that comes out after Vin-Speaks has been started, it is right to begin with wishing all of you a Very HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :-)
For Vindhya, 2019 has begun on a fantastic note! Being awarded as the best is one of the best feelings one could ever have. Add a rich legacy to that award, it feels truly special, isn’t it? You might have guessed by now.. Yes, MD, Ms. Pavithra YS has been conferred upon the prestigious JANKIDEVI BAJAJ PURASKAR AWARD for the year 2018 recognising her outstanding contribution towards Rural Entrepreneurship and Women Empowerment. Achieving this award is no mean feat! Let’s get to know about the legacy of this award and what makes it so special to win.
- Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj, a strong proponent of the Gandhian way of life, propagator of rural upliftment and a recipient of Padma Vibhushan in 1956. She is the wife of Shri. Jamnalal Bajai, a Humanitarian, freedom fighter, philanthropist, social reformer and a devoted Mahatma Gandhi follower.
- The Indian Merchants’ Chamber’s Ladies' Wing, under the presidentship of Mrs. Kiran Bajaj, instituted an award in 1993 to recognise women entrepreneurs who work for the progress of rural India. These accomplished women are honoured with an award named after Jankideviji Bajaj, who strongly advocated the emancipation of women and envisioned them as agents of progress.
Objective of the award: To encourage and developbusiness entrepreneurship in rural India by recognising outstandingcontribution of women who work for rural economic development
Award consists of: The Award is known as The IMC-Ladies' Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar. It comprises of a Cash Award, a Citation and a Certificate
- The 26th IMC – Ladies’ Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar -2018 presentation ceremony was held on 08-01-2019, in Mumbai.
- Ms. Pavithra was awarded by Smt. Safeena Hussain, Founder & Executive Director, Educate Girls, in the presence of Guest of Honor, Mr. Milind Soman, Actor, Ultra Runner and Founder of PINKATHON
